How to get rid of a fuck buddy

You know what it’s like. You start having sex and for a couple of months it feels great. Amazing even. But then after a few months you start to feel a bit ‘meh!’ about the whole thing and start wondering how you let that special spanking partner know that you’re not feeling it anymore?

Well firstly you can try being up front right from the get go. There’s nothing wrong with just saying to someone “Well I’ve had a great time, but I think it’s time to move on. Wish you all the best!” A truly British statement if ever there was one. Unfortunately sometimes these don’t always work, especially if you get the feeling that your fuck buddy is developing stronger feelings for you or just have a poor reaction to the news that they’re no longer the hot stuff they once were for you between the sheets.

Well fortunately for you, there are a few things you can say to fuck buddy you want to get rid of without any fear of bad repercussions.

1. Lie nicely
I know one of the first things we talk about on this site is honesty with your casual partners, but to avoid hurting someone’s feelings it doesn’t hurt to tell a white lie on occasion. If you want to get rid of a fuck buddy try saying that you’ve had a great time but that you’ve been looking for a long term relationship and have met someone else. Yes it’s dishonest but trust us it will ease a blow if you think your fuck buddy will be hurt by you leaving. And it’s better than just saying “I just don’t want to fuck you anymore.”

2. Scare them a little
On the other end of the scale you can always try freaking your partner out a bit. Try saying something like “I’m looking for a long term relationship and I’ve started to develop feelings for you.” This can work well and have them running for the door faster than you can say ‘fuck you!’ However remember that this can backfire as well – if they have developed feelings for you then you’ve just landed yourself in a whole heap of trouble. Only use this one if you’re certain they’re just into casual sex with you.

3. Not interested in a sex only relationship
This is clever as it doesn’t involve lying at all. Just tell your fuck buddy that you’re no longer interested in a sex only relationship. Say that it worked well for a while but you’re just not interested in that kind of connection with them anymore.

Whichever method you decide to use to get rid of a fuck buddy, always remember that this is a human being you’re dealing with. Don’t be a dick or a bitch to them. Make the break clean and make it as painless as possible.
