You’ve been online dating for a while now. You’ve messaged, maybe even met up with a few people, but all the dates end the same way – you going home with a usually empty wallet. You must be doing something wrong, right? Well, maybe-maybe not. Online dating like organic dating isn’t an exact science no matter what the algorithm brigade may say. What is certain though is that there is no shortage of advice on the net over what you should and shouldn’t do on a date.
And then there’s the online dating coach.
What is an online dating coach?
Very simply, this is someone who will help you get a date and more importantly have a successful date...if they’re good.
Should I get one?
This all comes down to how you feel about your current situation. If you are having no luck getting responses from any of our f-buddies here or on any other dating site you’re using, then you may want to consider looking at a dating coach.
What’s the right one for me?
This is where things get a little more complicated and it depends on how you feel about where you are dating wise. For example if you’re someone who is getting responses and has met up for a few intimate encounters but is not happy with the encounters or feels like they’re not enough, then you might just want to have a search online for some general advice. As you’re already getting somewhere, you’re probably doing things right 70% of the time and just need an extra 30% to make yourself irresistible.
However if you are getting no responses at all, then you might need to go a little further and hire someone to take a look at your profile and have a chat with you about who you are, what you’ve been writing and what it is you want from online dating.
Is it a con?
Like anything in this world, you’re going to get people who are out to make a fast buck as well as the decent services who genuinely want to help you. The skill is in telling the con artist from the genuine coach.
So the simple way to check the difference is to knuckle down and do your research. Here are a few tips:
1. See how many testimonials the coach or consultant has on their website
2. Find out how long the coach has been a coach. Are they experienced, or just starting out?
3. Are they willing to offer a free trial consultation? Try before you buy is always useful and can help you decide whether or not that consultant is right for you.
At the end of the day a dating coach may or may not help you. Like everything in the online dating world, it’s about finding the right fit for you.
