It’s a hard conundrum and one I have difficulty in answering. But having discussed this with both men and women here in the office I have come up with 7 possible reasons why women like men who treat them like crap.
Now having analysed these reasons I’m not here to claim that all women are like this, but I am here to say that when you break it down you can understand why many women behave the way they do.
So here we go:
1. You can never really have us
Even if we get to the stage where we can call ourselves boyfriend and girlfriend you still have a big unknown in your head. We might pull the rug out from underneath you at any moment. One minute we can act all caring and nice and the next, we can act like we couldn’t care less. This uncertainty drives you wild and acts like an intoxicating drug. When we eventually do give you affection, it is the most addictive drug and you can’t wait for another hit.
2. Surprise!
We don’t call you for days. Even though you’re fizzing mad (and to be fair you have just cause) when we do call, you get all nervous and excited and despite the fact that you want to rip our balls off and tear us a new one, you forgive us fairly quickly because the mere fact that we’ve called and shown love is unexpected. You never know when we might call again.
3. We don’t care if you need us
You’ve told us this one yourselves – neediness is the biggest turn off for a girl. You couldn’t care less about us if we start calling you more often then you call us. That’s the kind of stuff that puts us in the ‘friend’ zone and when we want to fuck you the last place we want to be is there. So why blame us when we act like we don’t give a fuck? You’re exercising a power in this relationship. All we’re trying to do is balance the scales a bit.
4. Confidence. Confidence. Confidence.
This is actually a huge positive as far as I’m concerned. You like us as much as we like you, but if we act like pussies then it’s the biggest turn off. If on the other hand we are so sure of ourselves in every respect, you go all primal and can’t wait for us to jump your bones. Unfortunately this confidence can go overboard and make us act like total pricks and because you confuse arrogance with confidence, we score every time.
5. Chase never stops
Possibly the greatest aphrodisiac to any relationship, you love it when you are constantly trying to pursue our interest. It makes the build up to the first kiss or first night together so intense. You can’t help it. So we run just ahead to keep your interest.
6. Other women want us too
You claim to our faces that you hate it when you see us talking to other women when you’re about. Well, we know it makes you crazy and want us even more so…duh…that’s why we do it! Plus when other women see us talking to you, they want us too. This is primal animal instinct ladies; you will always go for the male surrounded by more women then the other males in the room. Why? Because at a base chemical level it shows you that we have the biggest balls in the room and are more likely to provide you with strong healthy children. Don’t blame us! It’s your biology!
7. Can she fix it? No she can’t but she’ll try anyway
You’re convinced you can change us. You think we’re broken and that all you need is a little time to see what corrections can be made. You love us so much that you hope eventually our walls and barriers will fall and we’ll be able to reciprocate the way you’d imagine you’d like us to in your head. But of course we know that if we did that…you won’t want us half as much. That’s fucked up. But we know it drives you wild. So keep chipping away girls.
Ladies your thoughts
You can call me a prick. You can call me an arrogant fuck. But when you run through the reasons I have given you, ask yourself deep down if you’ve never gone for a guy who exhibits all these traits in some way shape or form?
I know these traits work because I proved it just last week in a bar and had two girls fighting over my attention.
So who’s the more fucked up? Men or women? I’ll be honest and say we’re both fucked up. I’m all for equality.
