When you meet and get together with someone it is rare that you plan out your future to check they are compatible in the early stages. You have no idea if it is even going to last, so why would you plan it out? You are just seeing where it goes in the early days, I mean that is all that you can do! So if things last, if things work out, you then have to deal with the big boy stuff later down the line. More and more we are living in an international world with people from all over the globe moving to this country, so there is a good chance that you will be dating someone who is from a different country. What if they want to go back home, what if they want you to move to their country with them? This can be an awesome thing, it can also be a disastrous move! Here are some things to think about, both the delights and the dangers of moving country for a girlfriend or boyfriend.
Your relationship flourished in this environment
There is no reason to say it won’t flourish in a different environment, but you do know that it did grow in this one. It is like a plant in good soil. You know that this is good soil for this plant, if you move it, perhaps it will do better or perhaps it will do worse. There is only one way to know.
New adventures together!
Growth comes from adventures, and growth keeps relationships alive and happy. A big adventure like this could really help – and be fun to boot!
Do you have a base out there?
You are leaving everything behind. Do not underestimate the role that your base, your social group being close, plays in your life. Loosing that could make you unhappy – and thus the relationship unhappy.
Loss of purpose will kill the relationship
If you lose a sense of personal purpose, you will fail in the relationship. Fact. For example, if you go to a country and she has a job and you do not, you could end up living off her. Eventually the lack of purpose can kill your self confidence and thus the positive aspects that you otherwise would have brought to the relationship. Be really wary of this, it is a relationship killer this one. If you go, get a job, earn money, retain your independence.
There are some things to think about. Ultimately life is an adventure, so do what seems most fun!
